TP 118 again: Branched

I was feeling a little hard done by that I am pretty much limited to stuff in my house or garden for Thematic Photographic pictures at the moment; I can't just take a trip out to find some cool photos.

Then I realised that so far I've had plenty of material right here, and I should appreciate the things that surround me every day... I think these make into the 'Branched' theme:

Ivy.. something we are not short of in our garden!

Thistles, these are over now for the season but when in bloom they attract large numbers of hive bees, bumblers and other bee-relatives.

  2. I love thistles in the winter - also teasles; so spikey and architectural and they take the frost brilliantly. If you have winter birds you can also sprinkle seeds on thistles for the birds to find...

  8. Love your ivy...it's one of my favorite things....anything that just grows all over the place with it's own desire! Funny too how Carmi's themes seem to run through my mind (and eyes) all week long. I was at a wedding yesterday and I thought looking the whole group, they too are all branching out new lives, and on and on!

  10. You have a remarkable ability to find the extraordinary right where you are. I think that's beyond cool.

To wit, your thistle pic is magazine-worthy.

  11. Thanks everyone! and Carmi, you made me blush ;-) sometimes one is forced into appreciating the stuff outside (or inside) your back door.
