It wasn't hard to decide what to photograph for this week's Thematic Photographic.. "Still Life".
Most of these bears, dogs and the rabbit date back to my youth. 'Chocolate', the bear on the far left, memorably fell onto the railway track once when I was getting on a train; I was understandably traumatised until a friendly guard hooked him off the rails for me, phew!
love that vintage look u got there!.
ReplyDeleteAh, these are delightful! They sure don't make stuffies like they used to. I wish I still had mine from childhood. But since I don't, I'll just revel in this wonderful shot and enjoy yours vicariously.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great contribution to the Still Life theme. You've seriously got some mad photographic skills!
Thank you! and I'm happy to share my boys with you ;-)
ReplyDeletethey are wonderful
ReplyDeleteFunny!
ReplyDeleteI promise I hadn't seen yours yet when I did my own post on this theme!! Really.
Very cute!
ReplyDeleteJuniper: Is that the original case?
ReplyDeleteJJ, it is an old suitcase, probably inherited from somewhere in the family! It was my bears' home when they got relegated to the loft for a while while we were doing some dirty work in the house; when they came out to keep me company I decided it was a good place for them to sit!

They are adorable! I have a few of my childhood friends tucked away safe in my closet.
ReplyDeleteI gave you a blog award! You can read about it in my last post. Thanks for having such a great blog!

Brilliant, the bunny looks a little bit affronted at being considered a still life, "plenty of life left yet in this old bunny":)
ReplyDeletethank you for my award, a nice surprise:)
He looks a bit startled, doesn't he ;-) poor bunny I think he always feels a bit left out, being knitted and having no fur!

now that is still life in silent motion...so charming, and I really envy the lighting in your picture...really delightful display of old fuzzy friends!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen!
ReplyDeleteThe lighting/colour effect is a bit of a cheat - it's a setting on the camera called Colour Accent, and it likes yellow ;-) I thought it worked really well on these old fellows.
